IR35 - the APSCo advice
Posted on 10th February 2017
Our recent articles on the looming IR35 changes provoked an enormous amount of interest. We now have advice from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) and this is the current guidance as to how this will be implemented and what is expected of each party. It is ESSENTIAL reading for anyone who either works as a contractor in the public sector or is a public sector employer of contractors. Please note that although the government has yet to publish the final legislation and there may yet me minor changes, this change is going ahead and the documents below give a good account of what will happen.
In addition to the APSCo guidance below, this link, to the government's website, also provides guidance on "Off-payroll working in the public sector: personal service companies" and is well worth reading.
I shall be writing to our clients and contractors affected by this next week with further advice. However, be in no doubt: this is happening and if you are affected you need to take action.
