From our small beginnings in 2013, Be-It has grown considerably. The company has already moved once in Edinburgh to cope with an increasing workload and growing staff numbers. In 2016 we opened in Glasgow and are about to move offices there for the same reasons.  Our billings and income have increased substantially and, even as I write, we’re recruiting more staff and are in a very healthy financial position.

It’s good to be part of a company that is doing well, especially in such a tough market. Of course we’ve had challenges, of course we’ve made mistakes, but the overall trajectory is very clearly onwards and upwards. The continuing skills shortages mean companies really do value resourcers and recruiters who can cut through and deliver and we aim to continue to do just that.

We’re now of a size that our board has decided we need to change the structure of the company. I am moving away (a bit) from the front-line, into a CEO role, where I’ll have more time to be able to consider future strategy and how we can best improve our operational efficiency.

Consequently, I am delighted to officially announce that Nikola Kelly is now our Managing Director, with responsibility for the operational management of all our offices, in Edinburgh, Glasgow and, very soon, Belfast and at least one other location in Scotland and probably another in England next year.  I am really pleased for Nik: she’s a consummate operator, a sound businesswoman and someone who, I know, will drive our business forward.  Significantly, she is really good at recruiting recruiters – something that will be ever more important as Be-IT continues to expand. I am really looking forward to working closely with her to continue to develop the business.

Below Nikola, Stuart Alexander continues in his current role as Operations Manager, with particular responsibility for Edinburgh, and Christina Hall has been promoted to fulfill the same role in Glasgow, while Michael Phair has been entrusted with developing new and existing customer relationships as our Client Engagement Manager.

All these promotions demonstrate to everyone else here that we really do believe in career progression for those with the drive, determination and enthusiasm to grasp opportunity when it presents itself.

These changes have been unofficially in place for a short time: today’s announcement is, as stated above, to make them official and to give the wider world notice of our continuing ambition. We shall continue to grow by sourcing and delivering the very best IT candidates to the widest possible range of client companies. However, great recruiters and great candidates, whilst vital, are not enough on their own. It’s the combination of first-class recruiting skills with the highest standards of customer service and professional integrity that makes the real difference, and it’s that combination that Be-IT will continue to provide in the years ahead.

Finally, just to let you know, this is only the beginning of a series of announcements about some further important changes at Be-IT. Watch, as they say, this space!
