The 2018 Be-IT Research Project:  IT Graduate Employment

Following the good reception for last year’s investigation into ‘Sexism in IT’ (reported by The Sunday Times no less), this year Be-IT has commissioned a study into the state of the IT graduate employment market.

Having written at length about the skills shortages our industry faces, and the fact that schools are simply not producing sufficient ‘raw material’ for our universities, there is no doubt that the quantity and especially the quality of IT graduates coming on to the market is of great importance to employers. We are going to investigate two basic things:

  • do recent graduates feel that their courses and qualifications have prepared them for the world of work, and
  • do employers feel that IT graduates are of the calibre required?

Whether you are a recent graduate or an employer of graduates, it will only take a few minutes to complete the survey, which you can do at this link:

This year’s survey is again being carried out by an independent third party and we expect to announce the results at the end of the summer.

Thank you, in advance, for your help.
