Eat your heart out Gareth Southgate
Posted on 11th July 2018
You may have noticed that there is a football match being played tonight. You may also have noticed that Marks and Sparks have sold out of the waistcoat made popular by the manager of the England football team. Well, we have news for you. Mr Southgate was inspired by our newest Consultant, the waistcoat-wearing, debonaire Chris McManus. Chris has an interesting background, combining professional golf and an inability to switch off shop alarm systems....
Name: Chris McManus
Job title: Recruitment Consultant
What other jobs have you done apart from working in recruitment?
Banking and Professional Golf
What it your biggest disaster at work (anywhere)?
When working as a golf professional at Glasgow Golf Club I decided one morning that I was feeling confident to open the shop on my own. After successfully getting into the shop I made my way to the back room where the alarm was, however I could not get this open. Before I knew it, the alarm was going off…my boss didn’t tell me the alarm system that was installed was a smoke cloak which proceeded to fill the shop with smoke. After mass panic I managed to clear the smoke only to be confronted by two fire engines flying down the drive way as members thought the shop was on fire! Disaster.
What/who makes you laugh out loud?
Weirdly, Minions. I went to see 'Despicable Me 3' with my girlfriend on holiday and you would have thought she took her five year old cousin to the cinema.
When you were young, what was your favourite toy?
Action man of course.
Anyone from Dr. Dre to The Strokes.
As a new start, what was your initial impression of Be-IT after your first day in the office?
A really cool environment, a lot different than I have been used to. Was nice to see a group of people enjoy themselves while working hard and smashing it.
Favourite (non work) website and why?
The Chive – A lot of random , hilarious pictures.
Favourite food and drink? Seafood and Coke Zero (not in the same glass we hope – Ed).
Favourite techie gadget?
Being a golfer it has to be trackman.
And finally, what do you (honestly) want to be doing in ten years’ time?
Travelling the world on my yacht playing golf (it will need to be a big yacht is you are going to play golf on it – Ed).
