The Great Be-IT Christmas Quiz (Part II)
Posted on 24th December 2019
If you were with me yesterday, you’ll know that I’m reporting on our most important piece of research yet: what the Be-IT team want for Christmas.
Today, we’re looking at the last two questions we asked:
- If you were one of the Wise Men, what tech gift would you bring the Baby Jesus?
- What will be the highlight of your Christmas Day?
Given that the baby Jesus was born in a stable, some modern-day tech would surely have made his early life a bit easier. Certainly, a lot of us suggested he would benefit from a smartphone of some variety (iPhones predominated, including a gold one, but there were also mentions for Huawei). One far-thinking resourcer suggested that an Air BNB app would help the family find better accommodation. The fact that several of my colleagues, like me, have young families, was surely reflected in the suggestion of a “Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine,” while other practical* ideas included “A Ring Video Doorbell – means if any strange men turn up at his door in the middle of the night, he can check to see who it is” and “An Alexa to play nursery rhymes, or hymns if that’s the preference.”
When it comes to our expected highlights on Christmas Day, there was a lot in favour of gluttony but, again given the preponderance of young families, even more comments along the following lines…
“Seeing my son getting excited when he opens his presents”
“Seeing my daughter open her gifts”
“Seeing my nephew open his presents”
“Seeing my daughter open her presents”
“Watching my daughter open her presents from Santa … and play with the box it came in!”
“Seeing the wee’ins open presents and the joy on their faces”
The gluttony expressed itself in many different ways, with perhaps Adrian’s house being the place to be on Christmas Day as “each member of the family is cooking a different meal so the variety is amazing,” while I suspect only Freddie could say that the highlight of his Christmas Day will be “the Brussel Sprouts”! However, I am also a touch envious of Susie’s Christmas Dinner, “at a beach bar we have booked in Cape Verde” but not envious of Jen who will be “cooking Christmas dinner for the first time for 11 people – gulp.”
Whatever you are doing tomorrow, everyone at Be-IT wishes you a very Happy Christmas!

*practical, apart from the fact that there would have been no place to plug them in…
