Our Glasgow office is getting quite full now.   There are still spaces for a few more, but one less than previously, now we’ve been joined by Akeel, who as well as being an expert in the world of #ITjobs is also the man whose fashion sense extends to randomly coloured trainers and whose parenting skills are influenced by a TV cartoon.  Let’s find out more…

What other jobs have you done apart from working in recruitment?
I was in Sales – mainly insurance – from cars to equine! 

What it your biggest disaster at work (anywhere)? 
I was running late on a Sunday for work and turned up in two different colour trainers – didn’t realise until I had parked my car – it was too late to turn back. 

If you had to choose only one, which would it be – and why?
Facebook or WhatsApp?
WhatsApp – Don’t have Facebook – it was a colossal waste of time for me.
Edinburgh or Glasgow? 
Glasgow, it’s home 
Holiday in Spain or Scotland?
Spain – need a bit of sun sometimes.

When you were young, what was your favourite toy?  
Ghostbusters Ecto1 car and figures or a model Batmobile (1989 version). 

As a new boy, what was your first impression of Be-IT after your first day in the office?
Very collaborative environment – everyone is happy to help each other, which is amazing. A real family feel and it easy to see why everyone is so successful. 

What makes you laugh?
Phil Dumphy from Modern Family – I am tailoring my parenting style on him. 

Who in the Be-IT team makes you laugh? (and why?)
Tam – likes to have a laugh

Favourite (non-work) website and why?
Instagram if that counts (Yes, Ed) - you see all sorts, from completely random and absurd to extremely relevant and interesting topics. 

What’s the one techie gadget APART from your phone that you couldn’t live without?
Smart TV linked to Google Nest – Best lazy invention ever – “Hey Google, play ___ on Netflix please.
