I just had to share this – a five-year old’s view of “Science Girls”
Posted on 12th May 2020
One of our marketing team sent me a drawing his son had sent to him and his wife. It was done by his granddaughter, who is only five.
The little girl went to science classes at her Nursery and is now - or rather was until the schools closed – in Primary One in a school in Hertfordshire. She loves school so much she even plays at being at school at the weekends. Last Saturday, she drew this picture which she told her mummy and daddy is of “Science Girls.”
Perhaps ironically, both her parents are English teachers, not scientists, but I am told they are more than happy to develop her interest in what she will learn are called STEM subjects. We have been writing for years about the importance of getting more girls into STEM so how encouraging it is to see this sort of thing from a wee girl!?
