Be-IT Projects - an update
Posted on 11th April 2022
There are pros and cons with a soft-launch. On the one hand, if it all goes pear-shaped, then there are relatively few people in the world outside your company who know of your failure. On the other hand, you are, perhaps surprisingly, under more pressure internally, because you can’t be seen to fail, especially if the rest of the company’s figures are going through the roof. Why, it will be asked, are they succeeding when you are not?
Just over a year ago, in March 2021 to be more precise, Be-IT Projects was brought into being with a minimum of fuss. Given the success of Be-IT as a resourcing company, we knew we had to perform. The good news (at least from our point of view – our competitors may not agree), is that we are making solid progress, with a 50% uplift in business since the start of 2022. Moreover, we are (at time of writing), on target to double the size of the business by this time next year.
What we have found is that when you take the Projects proposition to potential clients, they want to hear how it works in practice and what our current clients’ experience of it has been. Obviously, quite a lot of this information is confidential, but we know that the number of those who urgently need an influx of the talent they need to fulfil their contractual requirements is growing and they do speak to each other and compare and contrast experiences. With contractors shunning jobs inside IR35 or, if they do, seeking a big rise in their daily rate, there is more pressure on this segment of the recruitment market just now. Where possible, we will happily share information with anyone who wants more details on what exactly the Be-IT Projects service offers.
With more firms struggling with project work we are seeing organisations adopting a far more open-minded approach to their workforce planning. Hiring an entire perm team is time-consuming (it can take up to six months or more), increasingly costly and, in the very competitive IT jobs market, quite frankly too difficult for many companies to manage on their own.
To make matters worse, projects are invariably outcomes based and there is an imperative need to get them over the line. Speed is of the essence and onboarding, in particular, is a problem. Here an external resource can make a big difference.
The single biggest factor behind the growth of Be-IT Projects is the strength and support of Scotland’s largest, independent IT recruitment business. It’s that support which has enabled us to provide our newest Projects’ client with their first consultants within two weeks of their request. If your business is pondering the way ahead for an urgent project where the timeline is rapidly shortening and you don’t have all the necessary talent to compete then you’ll want to talk to us….
