We’re seeking to recruit experienced, dynamic, forward thinking Big Data Engineers for a world leading independent IT Services Company who are building one of the most agile, efficient teams in the Data world that will quickly be recognised as the go to teams solving difficult data problems for clients across the UK working with cutting edge technologies and exploring new ideas.

Within this role, you will be working with a number of high profile accounts in a client facing capacity within multi-discipline agile delivery teams, pushing the limits and striving for innovation in creating exceptional solutions for their clients.  You will be called upon to solve difficult business problems based on a robust, low latent platform of structured, semi structured and unstructured data and will act as a mentor to help develop more junior engineers.

The role does require an element of travel with around 75% of your time spent traveling to various client sites across the UK for which all expenses and travel costs will be covered by the client.

You will be expected to have had exposure to the following:· Participate in the design, development and implementation of Big Data applications; An active interest in evolving technology; Data Quality and consistency of produced data applications; Working in a fast paced multi-disciplined agile project team; At least 2 years’ experience using Hadoop ecosystem to solve large scale data problems; Strong background in Java or Scala Development; Linux Scripting; Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark, Akka, HBase, HDFS, Hive; Data Warehousing and ETL Technologies; Experience of Data Analytics – R & Python; Understanding of real time processing events using Kafka, Flume or NiFi.
