This is a key role in a hidden gem of a business - an online, games-based, math’s learning service used by thousands of schools and millions of children worldwide. They are revolutionizing education and are world-leaders in engagement, yet with only circa. 30 staff, tucked away in pleasant offices in Edinburgh, they offer a uniquely friendly, flexible yet ferociously talented work environment.
What do I need to succeed?
Above all, you’ll need to be a graduate developer (2;1) who is passionate about 3D Games development and problem-solving. In addition, a good honors degree in computing, science or technology is a must, coupled with some development experience gained in any relevant commercial setting and/or some interesting personal projects in your portfolio (not related to your degree). The 3D game's environment is based on Unity, which communicates with the extensive cloud learning service (based on RoR, Scala). They publish on WebGl and all the major app platforms.
In return, they expect you (and everyone else) to listen, exchange ideas and pull together as a dynamic team. As a Graduate Developer, you’ll be expected to learn fast and by example and you must, therefore, be a creative, effective and articulate communicator.
