This role is reporting into the Head of IT and is to provide technical leadership (without line management responsibilities) to engineering teams (DBAs, Server & Storage, DevOps). You’ll also develop process to track environments required for development, test and training purposes. And support / coordinate activities of DevOps engineers to automate the setup and configuration of environments. You’ll monitor and guarantee uptime of non-production environments and provide ongoing support for non-production environments. You’ll communicate environment availability to project management, developer and test teams. Resolve conflicts between teams competing for limited environment resources and look for opportunities to automate test environment activities as much as possible. And finally ensure security requirements are met for all environments.
To be considered you’ll need the following: experience in a similar role with the ability to communicate with stakeholders such as project managers, scrum masters and engineering teams. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall project delivery and knowledge of continuous integration tools and techniques. Experience in providing estimates/sizing and the ability to self-start, to work autonomously as well as in a team.
