IT Security Officer

Glasgow (City Centre)

Be-IT's client has been around for over 100 years and employs a shade under 200 staff offering a service within the medical industry. Security has become more important each year as they continue to align themselves to best practice with many initiatives already instigated over the last few years in terms of this. There is now a need to employ a Security professional whose sole purpose is to advance from an already decent position and look to gain Cyber Essential Plus certification, conduct an initial gap analysis, work alongside a 3rd party Security Services provider and ultimately gain ISO270001 accreditation.

The business is moving to Office 365 and MDM platforms and the incoming person will need to ensure these fit with relevant security policies which meet accreditation standards. The company is soon to fall under Financial Conduct Authority regulations so ultimately, gaining ISO27001 certification is very important and your role is to achieve this.

There will be key relationships to hold with senior management and create security reports for them whilst also educating the wider business and creating a positive security culture. You will be the first point of contact with the 3rd party security provider and hold close relationship there, managing COPS tickets which are raised in terms of mitigation work, ensuring patch management software is up to date and be able to identify vulnerabilities within the current infrastructure as well as looking at penetration testing.

The size of the company allows easy access to senior leaders and this role will allow you to demonstrate your capability to not only the business but the leaders of it as well. The culture is extremely professional yet collaborative and close knit and this requires the incoming person to be strong in character, personable, driven, forward thinking and meticulous in the quality of their outputs.

If you feel that you have what is required to succeed in this fanatastic opportunity then do get in touch as I am keen to hear from you.

CV in Word format to stuart.alexander@be-it.co.uk or call 0131 344 4781.
