Up to £65,00 + car, benefits and bonus

We are looking for a talented technical design authority, who can demonstrate, large scale network architecture experience, combined with understanding and knowledge on all aspects of Cisco equipment with advanced troubleshooting and design skills. You’ll understand multiple connectivity options including but not limited to FTTC, L2TP, ADSL, Fibre and Ethernet. You will have a high level of customer facing ability, documentation production and extensive hands-on engineering skills in collapsed IP/MPLS networks. You will have good communication and documentation skills.

 

Your remit will be:

 

  • Be able to translate customer business and technology requirements that can vary in detail, and produce high quality network solutions, at both high and low levels of detail
  • Be able to deliver designs to defined standards, often against challenging timescales
  • Provide input to technical designs provided by other technology groups – a level of “cross-functional” technical knowledge is highly desirable
  • Provide direct, credible and authoritative interaction with colleagues and customers alike
  • Actively contribute to continual service delivery improvement
  • Function as a line manager to other TDA team members and act as Subject Matter Expert for other members of the technical teams

 

Essential skills:

  • Routing & Switching (Cisco and/or Juniper) and MPLS, OSPF, BGP
  • Firewall Solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Load Balancing (F5)
  • Experience with PPP, CHAP and Radius Authentication
  • Hands on implementation by you of your own design changes are typically done out of hours
  • Cisco CCNP/CCDP (Routing & Switching and/or Service Provider)
  • Cisco CCIE or JNCIP/JNCIE

 

It would be advantageous if you had any knowledge of the following:

  • Understanding of mandatory technologies: MPLS, VPN, ADSL/FTTC, Nexus, BGP/OSPF and Security (ASA or similar products)
  • Candidates with specialism’s in Network Security, with experience in the design of large-scale WAN/ISP environments (e.g. Service Provider) are of interest
  • Working towards CCIE or similar

You must be eligible for security clearance (SC)
