We’re seeking to recruit 2 experienced, dedicated Solutions Architects for a large Financial Services organisation based in Edinburgh City Centre on a 6 month contract basis.

Reporting to the Senior Solutions Architect you will be required to consider solutions in a number of different business domains, make technology choices that will enable IT to operate solutions in line with business needs to an appropriate level of services including implementing and upgrading a range of in-house developed solutions and 3rd party packages.

You will be expected to have had exposure to the following investments applications, or similar: Implementing, maintaining and upgrading 3rd party packages; Infrastructure  design to a level that enables choices of the technology platform on which those packages run; Analysis and specification of interfaces between packages and other elements of the IT estate including both 3rd party packages and in-house developed solutions; Creating positive relationships and engaging with business stakeholders to determine if the packages and agree objectives required to meet their current business requirements; Technology Platform (Infrastructure, Operating system) and Integration considerations associated with package implementation.

Experience & understanding of: Operating across a variety of environments, including all parts of the global group; Maintaining an up-to-date awareness and knowledge of the methods and tools used in the company, and externally within the industry; Gaining consensus for technology direction across boundaries; Providing a holistic view of the IT architecture across a well-defined project/programme using appropriate architecture models and frameworks; Provide technical leadership on all design aspects for an individual project or programme of work, ensuring optimal use of existing technologies or recommend use of new or innovative technologies. Providing recommendations on systems architecture for a given project, ensuring maximum return on IT investment; Understanding current and future IT needs for a well-defined programme of work; Managing stakeholder expectations to ensure project managers and business sponsors are aware of the impact of IT investment; Ensuring appropriate checks and controls are carried out within the design and implementation to ensure resulting architecture adheres to appropriate IT governance and standards.
