We’re seeking an experienced Unix Analyst for a large financial services business based in central Glasgow. The team is responsible for the build, support and maintenance of all servers running the Unix Operating System within the business. The team defines and maintains hardware and software standards for the Unix estate. In this role you’ll be responsible for the installation of new RHEL and IBM AIX Servers and for maintenance of them. You’ll need the following to be considered: experience working in a large IT infrastructure support environment involving 500+ Servers running a mixture of Red Hat Linux & AIX Operating Systems. This experience must include experience of server virtualisation, shared storage (SAN) technologies and networking; must have knowledge and experience of administering and supporting RHEL 5, 6 & 7 running on physical and virtual environments; knowledge and experience of administering and supporting AIX 5.3, 6.1 & 7.1 running on IBM Power 5, 6, 7 & 8 hardware, and experience of Power Virtualisation; working knowledge of Brocade SAN and IBM Storage Subsystems (including XIV, V7000 and SVC); working knowledge and experience of administering and supporting server backups with Legato Networker a bonus and finally scripting skills including Shell & Perl.
